About us
We're Clare & Aurita, and this is how we actually travel.
Two of us, one suitcase and backpack each, and a lot of other people's pets.

Our story
We're Aurita and Clare. An Italian and an Australian (with a British mum and passport for backup), two people who met in London in 2019 and bonded over two things immediately: a love of travel, and a love of animals.
Clare grew up in South Australia. Professional netball player. Studied to be a teacher. Won a scholarship to Indonesia, learned the language properly, then came home and taught Indonesian in South Australian schools for years. Then she moved to London in 2019, purely to be able to travel more.
Aurita had already been in London ten years by that point. Clare had been there five. That's where we found each other.
In September 2023 we left London for Dubai, and spent two years building a life there — before leaving that too. March 2026. Two suitcases each. No fixed address.
Here's the bit nobody tells you: we didn't run away from something. We built our way into something else, and it started with the exact thing that brought us together in the first place. Travel and pets, just... more of it.
We look after people's homes and their pets while they're away. In exchange, we get somewhere real to live — not a hotel room, not a hostel dorm. A home. A cat that needs its 6am feed. A dog who doesn't know we're strangers yet.
That's it. That's the whole model. We're not pretending this is luxury travel. It isn't. Some months the numbers are tight. Some flights get missed. Some visas take three attempts and one very stressed embassy queue. We show you all of it, including the numbers, because that's the actual value here.
Clare's mum Kathy joined us for a stretch through Koh Samui, and travelling with her taught us more about what "accessible" really means than any guide ever could. She's back home in Australia now — her last leg with us was a week in Hanoi before she flew home, and we carried on without her.
Right now we're in Delhi, looking after a very good cat until 21 August. What comes after that, we genuinely don't know yet.
This isn't the influencer version of travel. It's the actual one.
How we got here
2019
London
We met in London and bonded immediately over two things: a love of travel, and a love of animals. Clare had just moved over from Australia; Aurita had already been there ten years.
September 2023
Dubai
We left London for Dubai and spent two years building a life there. It is also where we first looked after friends' dogs while they flew home for the summer — the seed of everything that came next.
March 2026
No fixed address
Two suitcases each, no fixed address. We did not run away from something; we built our way into something else. Travel and pets, just more of it.
31 May 2026
Southeast Asia
One-way flights to Bangkok. Since then: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Koh Samui, Hanoi, with Delhi in between. Most of it without paying for a single night's accommodation.
Right now
Delhi
We are looking after a very good cat until 21 August. What comes after that, we genuinely do not know yet — and that is the point.
How we travel for less
House sitting is not a loophole and it is not free labour. It is a swap: owners get someone they trust in their home, and their pets stay in their own bed instead of a kennel. We get somewhere to live. Done properly, it turns a £60-a-night city into a £0-a-night city.
We have written the whole system down — platforms, profiles, applications, the awkward conversations — and we give the starter version away for free.
Work with us
We collaborate with tourism boards, stays and brands we would genuinely recommend. Say hello, or follow along day to day.
